Social Security Disability

If a disability prevents you from returning to work for twelve months or more, you may be entitled to receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). The claims process is complex and mistakes are easy to make and frustrating. Hedberg Law Firm, P.C. can help with the initial application, the appeal process and answer any questions you may have.

Are you unable to return to work for twelve months or more because of a disability? Call Hedberg & Boulton, P.C. at 888-773-8531 to schedule your free consultation. You may also submit a contact form and we will be in touch with you promptly.

How do I qualify for Social Security Disability benefits?

The Social Security Administration (SSA) oversees the SSD program and makes determinations regarding eligibility to receive SSDI. Our firm understands that the claims process can seem like a struggle for many people. We have helped many clients just like you understand the SSD program and obtain the benefits they deserve. Eligibility qualifications for SSD include the following:

  • You must have paid Social Security payroll taxes over a specific timeframe.
  • You must prove that a physical or mental disability prevents you from performing "substantial gainful activity" or that the disability could result in death.
  • You must meet the SSA's definition of "disabled."

My claim was denied. Now what?

Our attorneys have over 100 combined years of legal experience. Through the years, we have come to understand the SSA system and its methods. The vast majority of SSD claimants are initially denied. Rather than reapplying, you should move ahead to the appeals process. Our firm can represent you in the appeals process, which includes an administrative hearing before an ALJ (administrative law judge).

Whether you were injured at work and are pursuing a workers' comp claim in addition to your SSD benefits, whether your disability is the result of a personal injury or whether your disability is unrelated to either, Hedberg & Boulton, P.C. is here for you.

Our office can schedule evening appointments and Saturday morning appointments for the convenience of working people and their families. We are regularly open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. Contact Hedberg & Boulton, P.C. to schedule your complimentary consultation.
